5 Day Tour through Bikers Paradise and Swaziland

This 5 day motorcycle tour is the perfect amount of time to ride some of the best roads South Africa has on offer. Start off by riding through the beautiful mountains and lush forests of Magoebaskloof. Next up ride the Panorama Route to Hazyview. The mountain passes in this area are exhilarating! The next day will embark on an open vehicle safari into the world famous KRUGER NATIONAL PARK. The tour ends with a trip into the mountainous kingdom of Swaziland before returning to Pretoria again.


Day 1: Pretoria To Magoebaskloof (+-400km)

Highlights: Magoebaskloof Mountain range, twisties, mountain passes and spectacular  valleys

Today you make your way up into South Africa’s wild Limpopo Province. As you head up north, the roads become mountainous with beautiful views of the rolling hills below. Enjoy the great twisties and arrive at the majestic Magoebaskloof hotel, situated on the top of a beautiful mountain pass with breathtaking views of the valley below. There is a lot to do at the hotel. You can take a walk to the waterfall, spotting birds and Samango Monkeys along the way or you can chill out at the Phoenix and Fireman Pub!


Day 2: Panorama route (+- 250km)

Highlights: Gods Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, The Three Rondavels, Waterfalls, Magical Views Sites

Today we make our way down into Mpumalanga (an area known to Local Bikers as “Motorcycle Paradise”) the roads here are beautiful and curvy, and there are so many great view points, rock formations and waterfalls along the way. The route includes stops at Bourkes luck potholes, The Three Rondavels, and Gods Window. We will arrive in Hazyview in the late Afternoon and tonight we are booked in for the Shangana Cultural evening, which includes traditional African dances followed by an African feast! (B)


Day 3: Kruger National Park (0-50km)

Highlights: Safari into BIG 5 Reserve

This morning you will depart bright and early for a half day safari into the world famous Kruger National Park- you will have a full morning of game viewing. This world famous wildlife reserve is home to the BIG 5 and is roughly the size of a small country. You will have the opportunity to spot lions, elephants, birds and many different species of animals. You will be returned to your hotel at noon and have the afternoon free to relax or go for a scenicride up Long Tom Pass. (B)


Day 4: Hazyview to Swaziland (+-300km)

Highlights: Kingdom of Swaziland

After breakfast we depart for the Kingdom of Swaziland – the home of the friendly Swazi people. After border procedures (passport and possibly visa required) we weave our way along winding country roads and mountain passes. Today we will visit Swaziland’s own glass factory (Ngwenya Glass) and see the world famous Swazi candles being handcrafted at Swazi Candles. There are many excellent restaurants, pubs and craft markets in the Ezulweni Valley where we will overnight at an excellent country lodge, with its own magnificent restaurant with wooden deck with spectacular views. Day 5:  Swaziland to Pretoria (+- 350km)

Highlights: Relaxing drive through African Countryside

Time to head back to Pretoria. After breakfast we start the journey back! It is a nice relaxing ride through the interior of South Africa. After dropping off the motorcycle- transfers will be arranged to the airport or to your guest house. We can book you accommodation in Pretoria for before or after the tour on request

All prices are quoted per motorcycle based on riding 1 up and sharing accommodation. If you would like to bring a passenger add the "Pillion price" to the base price OR if you would like your own room, add the "Single Supplement price" to the base price to get your total.

This ride is suitable for most motorcyclists. +- 99% of the ride is on good tarmac roads. There are also some exciting off road options on good hard packed gravel roads. Daily distances are relatively short ( >450km) , there are rest days scheduled regularly and there are no long border crossings.
90% of this tour takes place on tarmac roads. The dirt roads are good hard-packed dirt. However, there are some long riding days and long border crossing. Some areas we visit are very rural and the roads sometimes have lots of potholes and other hazards. Need to be a confident rider.
This tour takes places 50% on tar roads and 50% on dirt roads. You need to be an experienced rider both on and off the pavement and have completed at least an intermediate riding course on a big Adventure bike- or have a lot of experience riding adventure bikes in your own country
